Being involved in sports since a boy, one of the unique things I have experienced in the past 20 years being involved in hockey is the kindred spirit that resides with people involved with the game. Although sometimes fierce rivals, I have marveled at how the existing kinship provides support in many forms,  whether  through networking in business or other opportunities;  the acceptance to help a fellow hockey member has always been  there when needed.  I think this is definitely one of those times we need to get involved and help a former player, Anthony Daniels, and his hockey family
 
I have known the Daniels family on many levels, I have coached Anthony for multiple seasons and I have coached with Kevin (Dad) multiple times as well. Our families have been intertwined with hockey both in travel and in HS with my family having had 4 sons and Kevin 3 boys. My son Kyle is very close friends with Anthony and they are often together at each of our homes.

I have spoken with Kevin directly and, in short, Anthony needs help now. His white blood cell donor must be found and this situation has to be altered in the next 12 months or so. I heard loud and clear that only 1% of the global population is a match .   Any networking we can do will be a big help.
 
The process to help is simple
 
•             Sign up for the test via website provided
•             Receive the kit via mail and swab the inside of your mouth
•             Send sample back to lab. If you are found to be a donor match
•             Simply donate blood at a designated lab site it is then stirred through a subterfuge which isolates the white bloods cells for Anthony
•             Your donated blood can be transfused to you if desired
 
The greater the test pool the more we have a chance to find a donor.  Any help you can provide here is greatly needed and much appreciated.
