Marlborough, Mass. Sunday Oct 27, 2013...The Ramapo Saints Squirt Gold team shipped out to Boston for their second visit in as many years to the Haunted Shootout Tournament. The Gold Team played very well throughout the weekend including a 3-0 record in preliminary play. After Saturday's game the team visited the Campus of Harvard University. Following a self guided tour of campus the team gathered at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center, the home of Harvard Men's and Women's Hockey. The Gold team entertained the home crowd playing a mini exhibition “game” between the first and second period of the Harvard (men's) season opener vs. Bentley. Playing in an 8 team division the Saints entered into today’s semi-final game vs the Hamden Dragons as the second seed. The team clinched a place in the Championship game with a 5-3 win. Most of the Gold Teams opponents this season have been bigger, stronger and older. The Tournament Championship game was no different. The Saints Gold Team fell behind 2-0 early in the game. Never quitting, they battled back as they have all season, scoring two unanswered goals to tie the game. After three days of fun and excitement they fell one goal short in the final game of the tournament 3-2. A good time was had by all!
