Washington DC Sunday/Monday  Oct 13 & 14....The Ramapo Saints Bantam A team traveled to our Nation’s Capital to participate in the 2013 Congressional Cup Fall Classic. Emerging from preliminary play with a division best 5 out of 6 possible points the team headed into the Championship game Sunday afternoon facing the Tri City Eagles. The Eagles play out of Laurel, MD.
The two teams played to a 3-3 tie on Friday night. The Bantam A team completed their undefeated run en route to the Championship with a thrilling 2-1 win. Trailing in the third period the Saints sealed the Championship by netting the equalizer followed by a dramatic tournament winning goal with 19 seconds left in the third period. Congratulations Bantam A!

The Peewee A White team used their defensive style to finish with a tournament best 18-4 goal differential. The team notched one shut out during their undefeated run to the Championship. Coming off a 3-1 win Saturday vs. the Montclair Blues they faced off with the Blues again in the Final game Sunday. The A team remained focused to beat the Blues for the Championship 5-2. Winning two games in a tournament over a good opponent is very challenging. Congrats to Peewee A .

On Monday the Saints Squirt Red (Olympic) completed the organizational sweep at the Washington DC Congressional Cup Championship.  The team rebounded from some unfortunate bounces despite owning zone play on Sunday resulting in a tie and loss.   They continued their dominating on ice play and earned back to back victories Monday.  They secured a championship appearance with a 5-1 win vs. The Washington Little Capitals. The team played the NJ Devils (National) in the finals and achieved their Championship run with 4-2 victory.  Relentless puck pursuit, solid defense and stellar goaltending were themes of the day.  It was a great time for the Red Team and the first step toward their goal of a njyhl championship.
