 18 AAA participates in the Chowder Cup - 7/22 to 7/26
The New York Saints 18U AAA team won their bracket at the Chowder Cup in Massachusetts. The competition is an annual summer tournament featuring elite teams from across the country and this is the first time a Saints team participated. The team got off to a great start Thursday with six different players scoring in a 6 – 1 win over Roc City Elite Black. Their next game was a tough 1 – 0 loss to Boston Knights despite a stellar performance from goalie Manny Pantow. The Saints entered the final game knowing they needed to score goals to advance and a 4 – 1 victory over Black Bear White qualified them for the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Saints were on the wrong side of a 1 – 0 score line again, this time in overtime. Although the team was disappointed not to advance, the weekend was a success and a great platform to build on for the upcoming AYHL season.
