Last Sunday afternoon, the Saints played host to the New Jersey Rockets (White) for a league game matchup at Sport-O-Rama in Monsey. Trailing 5-3 with 7:00 remaining in the 3rdperiod, Charlie Tyrell (unassisted) sparked the Saints comeback when he found the back of the net to bring the Saints within one goal. With 58 seconds remaining in regulation and the Saints on the power play, John Scavetta (assisted by Collin Nolan) beat the Rockets goaltender top shelf knotting the game at 5 apiece. Just 16 seconds later after the ensuing faceoff, Jake Santino (assisted by Will Thyberg) sent a shot through traffic beating a screened Rockets goaltender over the shoulder to give the Saints the go ahead goal and a 6-5 victory. That goal marked Santino’s 3rdof the game solidifying the hat-trick. Chris Smith (unassisted) scored the 3rdgoal of the game for the Saints and Anthony Rao assisted Santino’s 2ndgoal of the afternoon.
